Virtually every spark plug on the market today (SplitFire®, Platinum, Iridium) is a Low Power Discharge plug (LPD) having a peak discharge current of between 0.020 to 0.060 amps. DirectHits is a High Power Discharge spark plug (HPD) generating 500 amps of peak discharge current... 20,000 times more power than LPDs. Power to really ignite fuel! The robust DirectHits® spark burns the hydrocarbons in the fuel more completely and consistently so fewer hydrocarbons escape to the exhaust. DirectHits® does a great job at igniting hydrocarbons at lean air:fuel ratios conventional spark plugs could not begin to ignite.
