Q:Have Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs been independently tested?

A: Yes, www.sparkplugs.com has done an independent test using the Pulstar™ Plugs vs many different spark plugs in a 2005 Neon SRT-4 with great results.

Change2E85.com sells E85 conversion kits for vehichles and noticed a 5% increase in fuel economy with their conversion kit making the mileage after the kit come within 9% of the original mileage using gasoline.

Dsport Magazine tested our plugs in 2000 Acura Integra Type-R, 2004 Infiniti G35, and 2007 Mitsubishi Evolution IX and got positive results on all 3. We have the article in PDF format available for download. The article is in the March 2008 Issue # 63.

Modified Magazine has also done a test of the Pulstar plugs and really liked what they saw. They tested on a 350Z and the article can be found here for download in PDF format and is in the April 2008 issue. Back to top

Q: Are there any places I can go to get updates on product or testing data?

A: We have a blog that testing information and product updates such as new plugs for vehicles will be posted. You can click here to subscribe to our RSS feed to stay up to date! Our test results page will also be updated as new cars are tested. Back to top

Q: Why is a $25 pulse plug worth the money?

A: First of all, pulse plugs improve your fuel economy by an average of 6% as compared to any spark plug. This means they pay for themselves in less than a year and actually give a return on your investment of up to 400%. If you are replacing a worn spark plug, you will have to buy something to put back in the spark plug hole and today most people are paying between $10 and $15 just for a spark plug that still only has 50 watts of power. So the real cost of pulse plugs may only be $10 per plug and still give all the benefits of a 500 watts plug.

Secondly, if you are looking for horsepower, pulse plugs are the best bang for your buck compared to cold air intakes, headers, turbos  or high energy ignition systems. They are simply the lowest cost horsepower you can buy. Most experts claim that the cost to add 1 horsepower to a car in the aftermarket is somewhere between $200 and $500. On average pulse plugs will add  5  horsepower to most cars for only $150. If you are looking for better performance the best place to start is  at the point of ignition.

Finally, spark plugs range in price from $1 per plug to $40 per plug and they all have only 50 watts of power. Power is what lights fuel and a pulse plug is one the most technologically advanced automotive devices on the market with over 500 watts of power to make your engine more efficient and your car a lot more fun to drive. Let's face it, there are many items on your car that cost a whole lot more that $150 that do little or nothing. If there is any place you should get the best  it is tires and pulse plugs. Back to top

Q: What is a pulse plug?

A: A new ignition device that replaces spark plugs and increases peak spark current by up to 10 times as compared to spark plugs. Back to top

Q: Do I need to make any modifications to my car to use Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs?

A: No. Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs are "plug and play" products with no further modifications necessary.

We specifically designed the pulse plug to fit into the same hole as your existing spark plug. When you receive your Pulse Plugs you will find they have them same size and shape as a standard spark plug and are installed the same.

Simply remove your existing spark plugs according to the manufacturers recomendations and replace them with your new, fuel efficient, Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs and start enjoying a more exhilarating ride! Back to top

Q: What will Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs do to my engine's main computer?

A: Nothing. Pulstar™ contains circuitry to prevent radio frequency interference (RFI) and electro-magnetic interference (EMI).

Our scientists and engineers thought of everything when they developed the Pulstar™ pulse plug. In order to have a product that could be used by every car on the market, we had to take into account a myriad of different computers.

The pulse of the Pulstar™ pulse plug is so quick that the intensity of the ignition spark is complete in a period of 30 billionths of a second. Back to top

Q: Will the high power of Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs harm my engine?

A: No. The high power of Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs occurs within 2 nanoseconds (30 billionths of a second), which is enough time to ignite fuel, but not enough time to overheat the combustion chamber or engine parts. Back to top

Q: Will the installation of Pulstar™ effect the warranty on my car?

A: No. The 1975 Magnuson Moss Act prevents a manufacturer from voiding a warranty based on a customer's selection of parts that the dealer does not offer. Back to top

Q: What gap setting do I use for Pulstar™Pulse Plugs?

A: If your vehicle manual calls for a gap less than .040" then use the factory recommended settings. Under no circumstances should you set the gap to greater the .040", regardless of the manual setting. Back to top

Q: How much performance improvement should I expect after the installation of Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs in my car?

A: Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs will improve all aspects of combustion quality in your car. You will notice improved throttle responsiveness, more torque, and better fuel economy. The amount of performance will depend on the make, model, and condition of your vehicle. In general, you should expect torque to increase by 4 to 12% and realize between 4 to 7% improvement in fuel economy. Back to top

Q: Why are Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs more expensive than spark plugs?

A: Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs are more expensive to manufacture than spark plugs because of the innovative integrated pulse circuit. The different internal components and varying operational process distinguish them from spark plugs. Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs are lab and road tested for durability, performance, and safety.Back to top

Q: How long do Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs last?

A: Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs last as long as most spark plugs - about 50,000 miles depending on the condition of your vehicle and driving habits. Back to top

Q: Are Pulstar™ Pulse Plugs certified under CARB?

A: Yes, Pulstar™ plugs are certified under the California Air Resources Board (CARB), our CARB number is EO622. This means that you can use Pulstar™ plugs in California and other areas that require emissions testing. Actually, if you are having trouble passing your emissions test Pulstar Plugs might give you that little extra you need to pass. Back to top
